The farming industry has been implementing technology over the years in various areas, while leaving the gated pipe in the rear view. Mr. Kelly Cox moved to Colorado in 1990 to raise his family where he had grown up. He and his wife raised the 3 boys all through their childhood and helped them go after all their dreams. One of those dreams was a field that they reclaimed and started farming. All was good and well until the boys grew up and had to run off to college. That left Mr. Kelly to water the field. After the first week of trying to maintain the water it dawned on him, "There has to be a better way!?" He was right, there is a better way, he just hadn't invented it yet. After 10 years of intense research and development he found that better way. Kelly knew there was a way to let technology maintain the strict watering schedule that he needed. So after years of improvements and hard work, we are proud to bring you, The Water Widget. The solar powered, self contained, automated, gate valve; that allows you to program a schedule for watering. Let the Water Widget do it for you.
Kelly began developing the first production model in 2010. We've had a new beta model every year, at least 10 versions! We have since then changed the valve to be more user friendly, as far as mounting to the pipe and the electronics side of things. We are currently in production of Alpha model #2 and are very excited about the improvements. We look forward to taking orders this fall for next growing season. We have a test field on property with units installed to show the function and encourage you to drop by and see for yourself!
